Careers in Iridology
From all the unique occupations today, careers in iridology are by far one of the most inventive and intriguing diagnostic fields in alternative medicine. Professional iridologists study the iris for certain characteristics, patterns or colorations to determine a client’s health constitution. These holistic practitioners believe that there is a direct correlation between these identifying markers and health that may be indicative of dis-ease or other disorders.
Iridologists make careful observations of the iris by using special cameras to take photos of the iris. By comparing the image of the iris with a comprehensive iris chart, those who are employed in careers in iridology believe that the eyes are windows to the body’s physical constitution, and can identify which parts or organ systems of the body may be affected.
Individuals who have careers in iridology are often cross-trained in herbal medicine and/or holistic nutrition. Reason being that if and when health issues are discovered, they are better equipped to address these health problems by providing holistic nutrition consultations and recommendations (such as vitamin, herbal, or mineral supplements).
Though iridology is not regulated or licensed by any governmental organization in Canada or the United States, there are various educational institutions that provide certification programs for those seriously interested in achieving careers in iridology, or for established holistic practitioners who may wish to expand existing healthcare services. Additionally, a number of naturopathic and holistic medicine schools offer iridology as part of the overall curriculum.
If you (or someone you know) are interested in learning more about these or other alternative healing occupations, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Gaps in the Employment explain
Certainly a part of any interview process involves the discussion of your resume. You need to be prepared to discuss what’s on your resume… and to discuss it smoothly and without hesitation.
In addition to the discussion of your previous work history and why you left other employment, you’ll need to be prepared to discuss any gaps in your work history as well that may be a part of your resume.
Many people worry about having to explain gaps in their employment history. But this is not necessarily a negative thing and you’ll need to discuss these areas with a positive attitude.
Of course honesty is the best policy when it comes to discussing your work history, however, you should take some time to practice your answers so that you come off in a positive light.
Gaps between employment could be something as simple as the opportunity to spend more time with your family while avoiding the child care costs. Perhaps even during that time you have the opportunity to have your education and even certification levels to upgrade.
In fact, it may be beneficial to explain these gaps in your work right there on your resume. It allows you to come over as an honest person, and it takes away the element of uncertainty away from the interviewer right to for.
You may think that this is an uphill battle when you long gaps in service, but it all depends on the reasons for the differences, and what youwere doing to be productive when not employed.
When it comes to your resume it is always best to get a couple of opinions on your resume before you call it finalized. And you must know your resume by heart so you’ll be fully prepared to comfortably discuss the content of it.
In fact, practice a few dry runs discussing your resume with a friend or family members before you begin submitting it for possible interviews for employment. So simply don’t want to stub your toe and begin floundering around when discussing your resume during the interview.
In summary, be sure you are fully ready to discuss the content of your resume… and this includes any gaps in your employment whether you specifically note why or not on your resume. The more comfortable you are, the more confident you’ll come across… and this creates the best chances for a successful interview.
Employment Agencies and Online Recruitment
Employment agencies are there for both the employer and the potential candidate. If you have ever made use of the services of a recruiter you will realize how much work actually goes into finding the right job for the right candidate. More often than not the employment agencies can pull it off as they have the right contacts and the sheer drive and determination. Often times, the recruitment company will also serve dedicated clients, giving them a greater understanding of the company ethos and culture, making it easier to place the right kind of person in the right kind of job. For those people too busy to search for recruits and for those would be employees without the resources to search for jobs, employment agencies are the perfect solution.
In most cases, recruiters pay the agencies a percentage for every candidate they manage to acquire for the business. This can be levied on the candidates first year’s salary and can be in the region of 10% up to 30%. This fee can seem extortionate, but for employers who are desperate to recruit, they will not even bat an eyelid. Obviously negotiations can always be made to bring the fee down a bit, and some employment agencies actually come to expect this. Other employment agencies request a flat rate for full services rendered on one job posting, this is known as fixed price recruitment. Further options are for employers who recruit on a regular basis to have a membership in place with employment agencies, allowing them constant and consistent access to a portfolio of potential employees. This kind of association is most beneficial to both the potential employer as well as the agencies in that it is easier to place a candidate when there is a significant understanding of what is required, and a relationship between the two parties will allow for this to happen.
Employers are not the only ones who benefit enormously from the services of online recruitment agencies. Candidates and job seekers also find excellent service and enormous assistance through this business relationship. The candidate will outline the job that he or she is looking for, and provide their skills, experience and educational background. Using the information provided, the agencies can find suitable openings for the candidate and will organise interviews where applicable. All negotiations will take place through the fixed price recruitment companies themselves until a contract has been signed and payment is guaranteed.
How Invasive Should Pre Employment Background Checks Be?
Before going very deep into our discussion on how invasive pre employment background checks should be, if at all, it will be important for us to give ourselves a brief introduction to the said background checks. For people who have been involved in recruitment decision making, and especially human resource management practitioners, this is of course something that does not require any sort of introduction. But to someone who has never been involved in that level of decision making, a person who is just considering venturing there for the very first time, this is something that would require an introduction. After all, many of us imagine that the only thing that should influence our employment decision making is how technically qualified the prospective employees are for the roles we are recruiting. This whole idea of background checks would therefore be absolutely new to us.
As it turns out, employment checks are indeed very essential elements of the modern recruitment process. In conducting the pre employment background checks, you are looking beyond the prospective employee’s technical qualifications. You want to ensure that the prospective employee doesn’t have tendencies that, in spite of his or her stellar technical qualifications, would make him or her a liability (rather than an asset) to your organization. You know very well that if a prospective employee turns out to be a person of thieving ways, then they are likely to be a liability to your organization, regardless of his or her technical competence. Similarly, you know that if the prospective employee turns out to be a person with violent tendencies, they could very easily prove to be liabilities, rather than assets for your organization. So it is things like this that you seek to avoid, by way of conducting through pre employment background checks.
So, just how invasive (if at all) should checks be?
Well, the truth of the matter is that however you choose to go about them, pre employment checks have to be invasive. You can’t claim to have conducted a employment background check on anyone if you haven’t had the opportunity to check through their criminal records. And if checking through a person’s criminal records isn’t being invasive, then there is no telling what can be termed as ‘invasive.’ Similarly, a pre employment check will also tend to involve a look through a person’s educational history (and not just checking for educational attainments, but also for conduct issues). A proper pre employment check will also take a detour into a person’s past employment record. All these are rather invasive things.
Of course, focus when doing employment checks should be on obtaining relevant information, and not on being maliciously invasive. One needs to only look for relevant information, and desist from digging into irrelevant areas, seeing that ‘no one is without sin.’ The idea should be to avoid bringing on board people with outrageously bad records. Therefore pre employment records should only be as invasive as to the extent to which they reveal material facts necessary for making the employment decision.
Seeing that it is quite inevitable for pre employment background checks to be quite invasive, they should only be conducted on people who have passed preliminary technical tests – as a final step for recruitment decision making. Only the candidate(s) who make it to the very last short list should be subjected to these. It will be wrong to go conducting pre employment background checks on a hundred people, when you know that is only one or two of them you are looking to employ. Rather, you should narrow down your list to the two or three most likely candidates, and then subject those to the (inevitably invasive) pre employment background checks.
Cardiology Employment Forecast
While in the past there have been concerns that there may be too many Cardiologists for the number of Cardiology jobs that are open, a study of the market by the ACC concluded that this was not the case. Demand for physicians and surgeons are projected to continue to grow faster than the average growth rate of any other occupation. Employment should be full, especially in rural and low-income areas, where there has been a greater shortage of medical practitioners for some time. Demand for cardiology jobs also varies depending on the part of the country. As with most medical specialties, there are fewer job openings in large cities or other desirable locations. However San Diego, in particular, currently has a shortage of cardiologists.
A Cardiologists salary is primarily based on years of experience, subspecialty, geographic location, and type of facility. Medical Group Management Association states the mean salaries for cardiologists are $400,000 for non-invasive cardiologists, $450,000 for invasive/non-interventional cardiologists, and $540,000 for interventional cardiologists. According to a study by the American Medical Association, a large portion of a cardiologist’s salary comes from incentives and bonuses, which are considered contributions to income and net revenue.
Growing Demand Shrinking Supply
The US population is aging. From 2010 to 2035, all age groups 70 years and above will increase by over 95%. This means there will be a greater demand for all health care services, and a relatively smaller and younger population of physicians taking the retiring physicians’ place. Further, it is estimated that as many as one-third of today’s practicing physicians will retire by 2020. However, the recession and massive job losses across the country have had a direct impact on the revenue of physicians. When people lose their jobs, they also lose their health care benefits and, in turn, access to health care.
The recent stock market decline has impacted older physicians’ decisions on retiring. Some physicians are postponing retirement because of the economy’s effect on their retirement savings. Rather than retiring and making room for the next generation of physicians, some are planning on working for a few years longer to replenish their savings. But even a three- to five-year delay won’t address the impending loss of experienced physicians.
Health Care Reform
Another uncertainty is the pending outcome of national health reform. If the reform actually succeeds in increasing the enrollment into health care insurance programs, it will push demand for services, and therefore cost, higher, due to the dramatic increase of people needing these services. However, no one yet knows what will happen to reimbursement rates from Medicare and this new program. The question is will Medicare cut of reimbursement rates for various procedures for this new program that may ultimately decrease the income of all specialties?
Because of these and other factors, many physicians are waiting to making any decisions until they have a better idea of how the health reform will impact reimbursements and, ultimately, their income. These same forces are impacting Invasive Cardiology and Non Invasive Cardiology jobs alike.

Careers in the Financial World
As the world experiences one of the worst economic times in decades, careers in finance have never been more important. In order for the nation to regain a healthy and stable economy, the workforce needs intelligent, able, and honest employees with a strong financial background. If you are interested in a career in finance, there are many types of positions available. Whether crunching numbers, assisting clients, or gathering data, there is a financial career for everything. Listed below are a few common financial positions.
Accountant
An accountant is the ultimate number cruncher. But the job requires more than just skill with numbers. Accountants are required to record and classify all financial records and then interpret the results of those records. Besides general bookkeeping accountants are also responsible for a complete knowledge of tax law and tax regulations. An accountant may also handle the financial aspects of estate planning. Accountants may also act as auditors.
Investment Banker
An investment banker works for a financial institution that trades securities, raises capital, and manages corporate mergers and acquisitions. An investment banker may also serve in an advisory position for clients. In this capacity an investment banker would advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other financial moves and investments.
Real Estate
One of the most important industries in the United States is real estate. In fact, over a third of the wealth of the entire world is tied up in real estate. Working in real estate might include a position as a real estate agent, a mortgage consultant, or a mortgage broker.
Applying For Employment Insurance
It is said that it is always better to be safe than to feel sorry later, and this is ideally the motto that should be followed especially in case of jobs. In the present era of corporate privatized jobs anyone can bag a job in no time but can be handed over the pink slip very quickly as well.
So before you start celebrating your good fortunes about landing yourself a job, step back and consolidate the ground. Try and make sure that the funds can continue to follow irrespective of whether you are still serving the company or have been unjustly shown the door. And this can be done by simply applying for employment insurance scheme.
Employment Insurance is more popularly known as unemployment insurance for it kicks in to action when your job has been wrongly snatched away from you. Having this insurance scheme necessitates your employer to pay a part of your salary to the government. The idea is, if you are denied your job, your government can take up the task of providing for you, by sending you a monthly or weekly sum of money. Thus, it is all about getting insurance for work when you are currently unemployed!
However, this is most definitely not a life-long luxury that you can afford. The time period for which the government will bear the burden of your maintenance is a fixed time span. And you definitely have to get a job within that time limit. Employment insurance options therefore secure your future and for this you only have to go through a bureaucratic procedure of application.
The steps involved in insuring your job in this way are simple and quite easy to follow. Having access to the World Wide Web is actually optional for all you need to do is gather information about certain things. Although having access to the internet would have undeniably made the process easier, it does not imply that the inaccessibility would translate into impossibility of securing work insurance.
Firstly you will need to assess your eligibility because only when you have met certain basic conditions pertaining to the amount of salary earned, duration of your employment etc will the government agree to shoulder your responsibility during moments of crisis.
These criteria vary from state to state and hence it is advisable that you gather first-hand information about your job insurance options by contacting your state’s respective Department of Labor (DOL).
Secondly, you have to collect and collate all personal information before applying for your employment insurance scheme. This includes your social security number, your birth and residential proof, the list of your current employers etc. Armed with these details, you can go ahead and file your job insurance. While most states have to provision of online application others allow you to apply over the phone.
Your benefits start pouring in within a week’s time. That is just how easy applying for employment insurance is! And from then on all you have to do is certify weekly and file various reports from time to time such as research report, work report etc.
So hurry up and ensure your financial security and stability by applying for employment insurance. This is perhaps the best way to combat job insecurity in the world of privatization!

Careers In Thermography
The safety of investments such as commercial buildings, homes, and machines in industries has been an important consideration to owners. This is the objective of new careers in the field of thermography. Thermographer refers to the person or an association that provides services to increase the level of safety in manufacturing industries and homes. They use infrared technology to detect leaks, smells, energy losses, moisture intrusions, roof and wall problems, and among others. The services they offer have been proven to save millions of dollars and most importantly, the lives of the people.
Electric Thermographer
If you think that only Mechanical Engineers are capable of identifying problems with the design and the way machines are manufactured in the context of heat and energy, think twice. Electric Thermographer is also able to detect problems with industrial machines by using infrared technology.
Electric Thermographer uses infrared cameras to check hot spots in the electrical system due to damaged, overloading, and loose connections. This preventive measure allows machine and business owners to save large sum of money in expensive repairs and dangerous failures that may result from explosions and fire accidents. An Electric Thermographer also inspects the composite materials of aircraft which are important to airworthiness and performance of the machine.
Infrared Building Surveyors
Today, infrared technology has saved house and building owners millions of dollars because of early detection of moisture penetration in flat roof protective sheets. A Building Surveyor uses infrared technology to identify moisture that penetrates the roof membranes. When moisture enters the roof, it will cause protective membranes to rot and therefore, roof system starts to deteriorate. When roof system is destroyed, this requires premature replacements of roof materials. In addition, the trouble with damaged roof system causes inability of the roof to protect the building from the sudden rise and fall of the outside temperature as the thermal efficiency of roof materials is decreased. As a result, heating and cooling bills become higher. Now, the role of Building Surveyors is to identify the source of moisture that damages the roof system and fix the problem appropriately.
Infrared Home Inspectors
Another promising career in the field of engineering is for Thermographers who use infrared technology in detecting problems as potential sources of increased electric bills in the homes. Infrared Home Inspectors can help give you valuable information about hidden roof leaks, energy losses, undersized and overloaded circuits, missing insulations, structural defects, and moisture intrusion that could cause mold build up. When an inspector detects the aforementioned problems in your home, he then recommends cost effective and fast methods to fix these problems. Thermographers, Home Inspectors, and Building Surveyors have helped real estate owners save considerable amount of money in preventing potential damage due to faulty roof and electrical distribution systems of homes and commercial buildings. Generally, careers in thermography have proven to ensure safety of infrastructure owners as well as decreased electric bills.
